Disability Information Service

Disability Information Service

The Disability Information Service (DIS) was formed in response to a need expressed by disabled people in January 1997. We welcome enquiries by telephone or e-mail. You may also come in to see us at our Inverurie office, but we recommend booking an appointment first if possible. This ensures that we have someone available to deal with your query.

What can we offer you?

We operate throughout Aberdeenshire providing information, advice, and support for people with physical and/or sensory disabilities, their families and carers.

We also have our new online Forum up and running. Just click here to visit and perhaps register. This Forum is to provide a platform for disabled people and other interested people to air their views, concerns and issues.

Make life easier for yourself!

The Disability Information Service wants to help you find the advice and information you need to make your life easier. We have an up to date database providing information and advice.

We also have leaflets, access to both Caredata and Funderfinder, and a small display of equipment for you to browse through at your leisure.

You are welcome to drop in at the Opt-In Centre and browse through our comprehensive information between 10am and 3pm, Monday to Friday.

If we cannot provide you with the information you require we will introduce you to someone who can.

For further information please contact Stephen Leeman, the Disability Information Service development worker.
